★ About Taiyuan
Taiyuan is cradled in the majestic Fen River Valley, a magnificent tapestry where the Loess Plateau meets verdant mountains and crystalline waters. This is a land where time has etched its marks upon every inch of soil: as you wander through the ancient labyrinthine streets of a city with over 2,500 years of history, the remnants of Ming Dynasty city walls stand guard over the former sites of Shanxi merchant banks and Tang- and Song-style temples and pavilions. Just beyond the city, the Song Dynasty painted sculptures at Jinci Temple and the grotto statues at Mount Tianlong silently recount the radiance of faith and art. In Taiyuan, history is not merely the past—it breathes with profound depth, offering every visitor the most resonant spiritual echo against the majestic backdrop of its mountains and rivers.
