Unlike journals, which in Journal Citation Reports receive a Journal Impact Factor and are placed in quartiles (Q1–Q4), conferences included in the Science Citation Index Expanded appear via the Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI). CPCI proceedings are simply flagged as “indexed in Web of Science” without further zone or quartile breakdown. This reflects the differing nature of conference vs. journal evaluation.
